Flotation Tires

Flotation tires are a category of tires that provide supplemental traction and stability on soft surfaces such as sand and agricultural fields. Flotation tires from Firestone have treads engineered to make it easier to maneuver heavy farm equipment in the field while maintaining traction on loose ground. Industry studies have shown that soil compaction may cause yield losses of more than 40%, so these tires are designed with a wider footprint, helping to minimize compaction with more ground contact. With the weight evenly distributed across an expanded footprint, flotation tires can carry the same load at lower pressures, making them ideal for big equipment.

Before they make it to your farm, all of our tires must prove themselves at the Firestone Farm Tire Test Center, a 350-acre testing facility dedicated to rigorous ongoing tire testing and development. It's just one more reason why Firestone is the leader in the field.
